Artists need people with a sensibility so creatively fluent that they can gather and arrange their work with ease and flow. Acclaimed Korean curator Daehyung Lee is certainly one of these individuals. In 2017, he curated the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, and in 2020 he curated “CONNECT, BTS”, a collaboration with the K-Pop sensation involving 22 contemporary artists and curators from Berlin, London, New York, Buenos Aires and Seoul. Here, he tells us his 10 steps for self-improvement.
Daehyung Lee co-executive produced the feature film “Nam June Paik: Moon Is The Oldest TV”, which was showcased at Sundance, MoMA, Guggenheim and the V&A in 2023. His portfolio also includes the “CONNECT, BTS” project, where he collaborated with 22 artists, and the curation of the 2017 Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
Lee has worked with the TATE, LACMA, Serpentine Gallery, Martin Gropius Bau, ZKM and New Museum, among others. His latest curatorial project is “Delight” in Borough Yards, London, an immersive art exhibition dedicated to the past, present and future of Seoul.
