Julian Knox, aka Julianknxx, is an interdisciplinary poet, visual artist and filmmaker from Sierra Leone. Based in London, Julian’s creations explore themes of inheritance, loss, and belonging, and their effects on personal and interpersonal narratives. WePresent commissioned Julian to make a short film - “Black Corporeal (Between This Air).” Filmed during the lockdown in 2020 in the Barbican Conservatory in London, Julian’s poems “This Air” and “Can’t Breathe” are invoked through this metaphysical exploration of breath.
