Shygirl is the moniker of the South East London DJ and singer-rapper, Blane Muise. As Shygirl, Blane makes thrilling electronic club tracks, and has collaborated with artists like ARCA and SOPHIE. She also runs the label NUXXE, alongside Sega Bodega, Coucou Chloe and Oklou. We were drawn to Blane’s use of digital avatars around the release of her “Alias” EP, and interviewed her about them for WePresent. The songs were performed by four animated doll avatars, each representing a different facet of her personality. Shygirl’s releases have been praised by everyone from Pitchfork to Björk.
