With artistic partner Tuur Van Balen, Revital Cohen uses installation, film, and objects that explore processes of production, and their ethical and cultural implications. Often, this means seizing and appropriating the means of production themselves—engineering dozens of albino goldfish to explore notions of artificiality in nature; creating a diamond ring from the carbon of incinerated ivory to make a statement on value as it relates to real and perceived scarcity. Revital and Turr featured on WePresent as part of our Groundwork series with the Serpentine. Pegged to the gallery’s 2021 Back to Earth project, we created five mini-encyclopedias diving deep into the research of participating artists' projects.
