The French director Michel Gondry is one of the most celebrated names in cinema, known for his unique visual style and intricate film sets. Since his Academy Award-winning 2004 movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, he’s been a prolific filmmaker. He’s also a critically acclaimed music video director, having worked with Björk, the Rolling Stones, Daft Punk, Kanye West and more. Michel often works alongside his brother, Olivier, also a director, and known for his visual effects. In 2020, WeTransfer partnered with the Gondry brothers and the British rock band Idles to collaborate on a very special music video. Working together virtually due to the pandemic, they created an animated masterpiece for Idles’ single “Model Village.” In an interview for WePresent, they explained the perks and perils of working together as siblings.
