Award-winning illustrator, artist and music video director Jamie Hewlett is one of Britain’s most iconic 21st-century image-makers. As co-creator of Gorillaz, the band he formed with Damon Albarn in 2001, he’s created an entire cartoon reality centered on four fictional band members and catapulted to global fame. But even before the band’s formation, Jamie was a renowned cult figure, having gifted the world the heavy drinking, hard fighting heroine Tank Girl in the late 1980s. Since 2015, he’s been staging fine art exhibitions too. On WePresent, Jamie opened up about his daily routines and the ins and outs of building the Gorillaz universe.
