Born in Estonia, Anton Repponen is a New York based interaction designer with a background in – and deep fascination with – architecture. He has worked in the industry for decades, having previously been creative director at Fantasy Interactive living in Stockholm, Sweden and New York City. Since 2014, he has been co-creating with Irene Pereyra, with whom he jointly founded Antone & Irene studio. We featured his project Misplaced, which saw him take famous New York landmarks out of their usual context and place them in unknown surroundings to try to change the way we see them—essentially, completely distorting any preconceived idea we might have had.
“A lot of people know what the Guggenheim Museum looks like, but the moment you see the building out of context it’s very strange.”
