A New York exhibition by acclaimed photographer Renall Medrano, presented by WeTransfer.
Launching in New York this October, Renell Medrano presents LAMBÓN, a new exhibition that celebrates the end of a chapter of the in-depth world the renowned photographer and director has built.
Commissioned by WeTransfer, LAMBÓN marks Medrano’s first hometown presentation in over five years. The exhibition will be open to the public for free at WSA, New York from October 4 through November 2, 2024.
LAMBÓN brings together Medrano’s work from editorial projects and collaborations through her creative collective Ice Studios - including those with Kendrick Lamar and Solange Knowles – alongside previously unseen personal projects shot on trips to the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Egypt. LAMBÓN speaks to a society that endlessly takes advantage of the creative liberation they’ve been afforded, Medrano draws a line in the sand and asks viewers: will you be a leader or a lambón?
“LAMBÓN is a reaction to the expected landscape of modern creativity - revealing places and people you think you know in their purest form, and celebrating unseen perspectives for the kids like me,” says Medrano.
LAMBÓN will be open at WSA, 161 Water Street, New York, from October 4 to November 2, 2024.
