Brooklyn-based Korean artist Yoon Hyup is best known for his style imbued with movement, which he discovered at a block party in Seoul. Painting in dots and dashes like hip-hop morse code, his creations have been exhibited worldwide, from Tokyo to New York to Shanghai to London, and his clients range from Tiffany & Co to Beams. Drawn to the flow of his work (that he likens to skateboarding with a brush on canvas) we spoke to Yoon about his process, his favorite places, and why he’ll never get over the view from the window seat of an airplane as it lands at JFK in New York City.
