Seoul-based architect Yong Ju Lee wants to “push both reality and imagination to an extreme level.” No stranger to working across various scales and mediums, his work has been exhibited worldwide, including in the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Venice Biennale; and been the recipient of multiple awards, among them a Korean Public Architecture Award, iF Design Award, and Design Vanguard. WePresent featured Lee’s work and spoke to him about his expectation-defying designs, his time growing up in Daedeok Science Town in South Korea, and why he believes “architecture is everywhere.”
