Known for his eccentricity and distinctive visual and narrative styles, Wes Anderson (or Wesley Wales Anderson) is an American filmmaker, writer and director based in Paris. His films have received awards and accolades the world over, including Academy Award nominations for Best Original Screenplay (“The Royal Tenenbaums,” 2001, “Moonrise Kingdom,” 2012, “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” 2014), Best Animated Feature (“Fantastic Mr. Fox,” 2009, “Isle of Dogs,” 2018), as well as Best Director and Best Picture for The Grand Budapest Hotel. A lifelong fan of the New Yorker, his latest creation “The French Dispatch” (2021) is an ode to his favorite weekly.
