Ulrik Hasemann is a documentary photographer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Both as a staff photographer at the Danish ministry of environment and through his own personal projects, Ulrik’s work revolves around the relationship between nature and humans. We featured his ongoing project “Coastland,” made in collaboration with fellow photographer Mathias Svold. Both men grew up close to the beach and realized most of their childhood memories took place there, so they decided to travel across the country to investigate what makes the Danish coast so unique. Their series captures the various ways people interact with the sea and the shore, whether it’s leaping into the water on a hot summer’s day or a picturesque location to say “I do.”
