Tomas Ayuso is a writer and photojournalist from Honduras. His work tackles Latin American conflict and how it is interconnected with drug wars, displacement and urban dispossession. We collaborated with Tomas on a very special report about the indigenous Embera people of Colombia who have faced persecution, structural racism and displacement. The photos were accompanied by a moving written account from Tomas as he followed their journey home. His work has been featured on National Geographic, the New Yorker, ICRC, the New York Times, ABC News, and many more, and in 2020 he was commended as the National Geographic Migration Fellow.
