Till Nowak is an artist and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. In 1999, he founded the animation studio frameboX, through which he began making his own films and working for film production companies. Till is renowned for creating entire worlds out of his intricate animations, and his work has received more than 80 awards from international film festivals such as Annecy, Anima Mundi and AFI Fest Hollywood. We discovered him after his work on the 2018 blockbuster “Black Panther,” and featured him on WePresent. In our interview, Till told us how a childhood of making puppets and stop-motion films evolved into such an illustrious career, and walked us through what it was like to work on the record-breaking film. Till has worked on many movies, including “Thor: Ragnarok” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.” He’s also created numerous art installations and given lectures at universities around the world, and is a member of the European Film Academy, the German Film Academy, ASIFA Hollywood and the Art Directors Guild.
