Born and raised in New Orleans, Tarriona “Tank” Ball is an artist, poet and musician. She is best known as the lead singer of Tank and the Bangas, a Grammy-nominated funk and soul band who released their major-label debut album "Green Balloon" in 2019. In a unique feature for WePresent, we brought Tarriona together with the LA-based poet Warsan Shire. While Warsan wrote a love letter to New Orleans, Tarriona, as a local, responded on the city’s behalf with an atmospheric poem.
