Shirin Abedinirad is a visual artist and writer from Tehran. She has become widely respected for her confrontational performance art pieces on themes of gender and sexuality, as well as her video artwork. We discovered Shirin’s work via her stunning mirror sculpture installations which were placed in global locations, from the Iranian desert to the Italian city of Treviso. In our feature, she spoke about how her work has now become focused on nature and the power of history. Shirin has exhibited her artworks around the world, and spent a scholarship at the United Colors of Benetton’s Fabrica research centre.
