Sheila Heti is a Canadian author who has published numerous books, including the critically acclaimed novels “Motherhood” and “How Should a Person Be?.” She was named amongst "The New Vanguard" by the New York Times, as a writer who is shaping 21st century literature. We commissioned Sheila to write a bespoke work as part of our Literally series, a slowly expanding library of work by some of the best writers in the world. Her story was a painfully honest look at the complexity of adult relationships. Sheila’s books have been translated into 20 languages, and she’s written for the New Yorker, the London Review of Books, and the Paris Review.
