Based in Moscow, Sasha Katz describes herself as a GIF artist. Playing with one of the internet’s most popular animation formats, she experiments with the contrast of nature and technology. Her images fuse items like computers, mobile phones and cars with natural things like plants, water and sand. We featured her work on WePresent, and she told us how childhood experiences playing “Sonic the Hedgehog” led to a passion for old-school 8-bit art. Sasha has exhibited her work across Europe, and worked with Converse, DuckDuckGo, Tumblr, and more.
