Born in Poland and based in Düsseldorf, Roman Klonek is known for gorgeous wood-cut prints that merge Russian and Japanese aesthetics with pop culture references. Working from a punchy palette of black, white, red, yellow, blue and green, he creates borderline psychedelic scenes full of whimsical creatures and humanoid characters in surreal urban and natural settings. Along with his personal practice, Roman has created illustrations for Wired, The Pixies, APF Magazine, and Lush; and designed skate decks and figurines for Kidrobot.
