Rehab Eldalil is a documentary photographer and visual storyteller born and currently based in Cairo, Egypt. Since receiving a photography BA from Helwan University in her home city in 2011, she’s been making work that focuses on the themes of identity and belonging, and many of her projects encourage others to participate and get involved in their own creative way. We interviewed Rehab as part of our annual collaboration with the World Press Photo contest, for which she was a winner in the Open Format category of the African region in 2022. The project in question was “The Longing Of The Stranger Whose Path Has Been Broken,” in which she attempted to reconnect with the Bedouin tribes of the Sinai peninsula that her ancestors were a part of.
