As senior curator of architecture and design at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Paola Antonelli has invigorated the institution with a steady flow of unconventional and intelligent exhibitions, unexpected acquisitions and engaging digital programs that expand the definition of serious design. This is the woman who added the “@” sign and the original emojis to the MoMA collection; and themed entire exhibitions around workplace design and “humble masterpieces” like Band-Aids and Bic pens. Paola featured on WePresent as part of Notes from the Underground, an interview series featuring some of the most unusual creative minds working today. The series was curated by Dr Nelly Ben Hayoun, founder of the University of the Underground.
