Born in Venezuela, Nadia Hernández is an artist currently based in Sydney. Her visual art is concerned with the political climate of Venezuela and her experience of being a South American woman living abroad. Her preferred mediums include textiles, paper constructions, painting, music, installations, sculptures and murals. We interviewed her about a series of colorful paper cut-out collages and large-scale murals she made that were influenced by the poster art she saw during political demonstrations in her home country. Nadia has exhibited her work across Australia and was selected as the official artist for City of Sydney's NYE 2017.
