Based in London, Moya Lothian-McLean is a freelance journalist and content specialist working across print, online, radio and video. As the politics editor at gal-dem, she specializes in amplifying under-reported stories and marginalized voices. In 2021, she wrote an essay in response to findings from WeTransfer’s Ideas Report, which surveyed over 10,000 people in 135 countries about how their creative work had changed during the year. Moya’s essay focused on the data from Gen Z respondents, and their experiences of feeling undervalued, underpaid and overworked. Moya has published writing on the BBC, Huck Magazine, The Guardian, Audio Always, Broccoli Content, VICE and i-D.
