Mong Tong is a sample-based band in Taipei led by two brothers: Hom Yu and Jiun Chi. Their music draws on kitsch aesthetics of the supernatural and New Age beliefs popular in the 90s and 00s, and has gathered a substantial audience on Bandcamp. Their album and EP releases are often accompanied by homemade artwork and inventive zines, and we interviewed the band in a Taipei coffee shop to discuss their unconventional live shows and plans for the future.
