Born in Vermont, Miranda July is a filmmaker, artist, and writer. Her book, “No One Belongs Here More Than You,” won the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award. And she wrote, directed and starred in Everyone We Know, which won the Camera d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and a Special Jury Prize at Sundance. We re-published a piece from LIMBO Magazine – a printed arts publication created to support out-of-work artists and creatives following the COVID-19 crisis – in which Miranda collaborated with the photographer Charlie Engman. Using the screenshots folder on her laptop as inspiration, Miranda wrote about what links the things she’s collected on her computer over time, and these screenshots were turned into collages by Charlie. Miranda’s writing has appeared in the Paris Review, Harper’s, and the New Yorker.
