Splitting his time between Italy and Uganda, Michele Sibiloni is an Italian photographer and videographer whose work depicts cultural and news events. During his time in the African continent, he’s covered the independence of South Sudan, the Libyan uprising, and the attempted Coup d’état in Burundi for the likes of the New York Times, the British Journal of Photography, and Vice. But it’s Michele’s more personal projects that caught our eye, which act as an allegory for larger issues in their own unique way. The work we featured is from Michele’s ongoing series titled “Nsenene Republic,” which investigates the phenomenon of grasshopper hunting in Uganda.
