Based in the small city of Ulyanovsk in western Russia, Maxim Zhestkov creates crazy computer generated art. Using basic geometrical shapes, he creates bold and hypnotic visual works that celebrate the beauty of color and movement. We discovered Maxim after he released his art film, “Volumes.” Inspired by the color-changing behavior of cuttlefish, he applied this to a wave of shiny black balls that rapidly change color while rising and falling. Maxim has held solo exhibitions at MIT, Shanghai Modern Art Museum, and Unit London, and been featured by Wired, Hypebeast and Dazed & Confused.
“Working with colors has opened a new door into a completely new universe with loud creative voices and bright emotions.”
