Born in London, Marianne Faithfull has been a mainstay of rock music for more than half a century. She’s released more than 20 studio albums, and cemented herself as one of the most gifted lyricists in the world. We interviewed Marianne around the release of her 2021 album, “She Walks in Beauty.” It was a record made during the first lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic, but it was imbued with themes of friendship, purity and optimism. The album was created in collaboration with some of Marianne’s best friends, and in our interview she spoke about the power that love and devotion can have on the sound of music. Marianne is listed in VH1’s 100 Greatest Women of Rock and Roll and received the World Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2009 Women's World Awards.
