Working as a photojournalist for CNN, Louis Leeson has dedicated his career to reporting on migration, human rights and the consequences of war. Based in London, Louis has traveled across Africa and the Middle East to deliver cutting edge news and editorial. He’s also an expert on the ethics of reporting, and has delivered lectures on the representation of trauma on camera and its psychological effect on both subject and viewer. We discovered Louis through one of his most hopeful and cinematic documentaries, “A Million Waves,” made in collaboration with the director Daniel Ali. It tells the powerful story of a lone female surfer in Sierra Leone who managed to teach herself to ride the waves amidst the turmoil of civil war and the ebola crisis. Louis’ photography is represented by Eyevine in London.
