Lina Genoushy is an Egyptian photographer working across social documentary and portrait photography. Her work is generally centered around questioning society’s perception of the prevailing power of patriarchy, and her debut series, “Breadwinners,” aimed to shine a light on the vital role Egyptian women play in supporting their families. We spoke to Lina about her project “Shame Less,” in which she spoke to victims of gendered violence and harassment in Egypt, in order to highlight the trauma faced by women in her home country every day.
