Lina Abascal is a writer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, where she was born and raised. Having grown up contributing to rock zines and dance music blogs, she studied journalism in San Francisco before moving to New York, where she wrote the VICE column ‘Around the World in 80 Raves.’ Her debut book, “Never Be Alone Again: How Bloghouse United the Internet and the Dancefloor” was released in 2021. We featured her first film “Stud Country,” co-directed with Alexandra Kern, which immerses viewers in LA’s resilient queer line dancing scene.
