Kyutae Lee (aka Kokooma) is a South Korean illustrator and animator based in Seoul. Kyutae creates beautiful and mystical scenes based on South Korean life in his light-handed style, and short animated videos (such as “Look Around,” 2008). He’s illustrated countless Korean book covers and editorial creations, his technical brilliance speaking for itself. Drawn in by the incredible detail layered into his work – the beautiful scenes appearing deceptively hazy at first glance – we featured some pieces on WePresent and spoke to Kyutae about his love of drawing and the natural world that continues to inspire him.
“Nature shows me unimaginable phenomena. It’s always so full of surprises.”
