French photographer Laura ben Hayoun lives and works in Paris, Yerevan and Algiers. Having been away from her hometown of Paris for a few months, she wondered if she could find the same feeling of unfamiliarity on her return to the city. With this in mind, she got to know the people at the Boulevard de Clichy, a street that had been around the corner from where she had lived for years. Armed with just her camera, she overcame the initial feelings of disquiet to capture what she calls an interzone; “the boulevard is a crossing through invisible territories.” Laura’s work was featured on WePresent as part of our series with Nelly ben Hayoun – “We Can Do It” – where our long time co-conspirator introduced us to a set of creatives who embody her can-do attitude.
