Lance Oppenheim is an American filmmaker from Florida. He studied filmmaking at Harvard University and released a series of short documentaries (including three Op-Docs produced by the New York Times) before embarking on his own interpretation about a place he’d been fascinated by all of his life. He grew up surrounded by retirement communities, but it was The Villages – known as the “Disney world for retirees” since it opened in the late 80s – where Lance wanted to focus his creative skill for his debut feature-length documentary, “Some Kind of Heaven.” He spoke to writer Dino Bonacic about the hyperreal fantasy project for WePresent.
