Kissi Ussuki, also known as Justė Urbonavičiūtė, is an illustrator based in Vilnius, Lithuania. The characters she draws are always fun and surreal, their exaggerated features brought to life in pastel colors: “Us humans are such weird creatures with so many different ‘flaws’ like crooked noses or moles on our bodies that are way more interesting than beauty standards,” she says. Kissi has created work for the New York Times, Refinery29, Snapchat, and Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier, to name a few. We spoke to her about her love of backstories, old horror movies, James Bond and the color pink.
