Archy Marshall, better known as King Krule, is a musician from South London. Since the release of his debut album in 2013 (“6 Feet Beneath the Moon”) Archy has caught the attention of musicians from Queen B to Tyler, the Creator. His third studio album “The Ooz” (2017) was shortlisted for the Mercury Music prize and brought his raw, unapologetic music to the fore. Borrowing from jazz, hip-hop and indie-rock all at once, and with four studio albums and two live recordings under his belt (“Live on the Moon,” 2018, “You Heat Me Up, You Cool Me Down,” 2021) the artist shows no sign of slowing down. As part of our three-part series “King Krule & Friends,” the musician sat down with some of his closest collaborators (Paraic & Michael Morrissey, Charlotte Patmore, and his brother Jack) to discuss how they turn his music into visual masterpieces.
