Kansas based musician, singer and songwriter Kevin Morby has released six solo albums to date (“Sundowner,” 2020, “Oh My God,” 2019, and “City Music,” 2017) and shows no sign of slowing down. Kevin grew up in the state he now calls home, but at 18 he left for New York where he joined a group called Woods and later co-founded The Babies. His emotive, narrative music, created with a range of collaborators, pines for lost friends, far away places and touches on religion, beauty and people. We asked Kevin to write a piece for “Literally” – WePresent’s slowly expanding library of written commissions by some of the best writers in the world – and he took the opportunity to describe a decade of life on the road.
