Danish photographer Ken Hermann has spent years traveling the globe creating images of micro worlds and the people that inhabit them. Drawn to the fragile balance between humans and their environment, and tradition and modernity: his work has been featured in publications including National Geographic, VICE and The Guardian, among others. WeTransfer featured “Well of Death”: a collaboration between Ken and creative director Gem Fletcher who documented the traveling Indian tradition of “high-octane, low-tech entertainment where cars and motorbikes roar around the vertical sides of a 60-foot wooden cylinder.” For Ken, India holds a special resonance; it’s where he bought his first camera and began to tune into what would become his career. Together, he and Gem discussed their trip, collaboration, sensory overload and the need to avoid cliches.
