American photographer and graphic artist Kate Stone is based in New York. Her photography has been exhibited the world over, and her talent for stop-motion animation has seen her work across music videos (“The Claudettes,” 2018) and film installations. We spoke to Kate about her book with writer and long-time friend Hannah Schneider, “How We End,” which includes 41 short love stories, all told from the perspective of the moment each relationship ended. Together, the two created a collection of intimate scenes, each holding the elements of the connection that existed and ended there. All based on true stories, “How We End” is still a work of fiction: in part, to reflect the one-sided nature that break-up tales inevitably take.
