New York-based artist Johanna Goodman studied at Boston University's School of Fine Art and Parsons School of Design where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration in 1992. She’s been a freelance illustrator ever since, garnering awards from the likes of The Society of Publication Design and Communication Arts and collecting an impressive roster of clients including The Museum of Natural History, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Time Magazine, and The New Yorker. We featured her “Imaginary Beings,” for which she turned her attention to collage art and produced a collection of surreal figures. While their heads, arms, and feet are distinctly human, Johanna has collaged their bodies out of a mismatch of imagery, from historical photos and buildings to planets and plants.
