When Joanne Ho moved into a bare apartment in her hometown of Auckland, New Zealand, she decided to paint large scale artworks to brighten the empty-looking walls. This was her first foray into the craft and she’s since turned to acrylics and paper and developed her own unique style. Water is always a prominent feature in Joanne’s vibrant paintings, and whether it’s a bird’s eye view of a holiday swimming pool or a natural body of water nestled in a colorful landscape, all of her artworks are decorated with tiny figures—swimmers, surfers, and sunbathers enjoying an endless summer (while the viewer looks on longingly).
