Jean David Nkot is a Cameroonian artist whose work has been exhibited in London, New York and Yaounde. His work addresses themes surrounding trans-African migration, combining detailed portraits with layers of complex cartographic information: complexities and places that jostle in the head of a migrant, while the human figures in the foreground invite us to form a reflection about the state of the world. We wanted to know about Jean’s story and how it affects the beautiful paintings he now creates, so we caught up with him following his residency as part of the Moving Frontiers project.
