British writer, editor, and art director James Cartwright is a contributor to The Observer, Riposte, and Eye on Design, among other publications, and has created copy for the V&A, the Imperial War Museum, Nordic Approach, Moleskine and WeFolk. He’s also a regular on WePresent, contributing features and commissioning illustrations that light up our platform. As part of WePresent’s 2021 Ideas Report—which found that a surprising number of clients and creatives surveyed downplayed the other’s role in creative work—James wrote a treatise in defense of collaboration, respect, honesty, and humility in the creative process.
“I propose we ditch our egos and thank everyone who has helped us to make work that we’re proud of, whichever side of the client/creative divide we’re on.”
