For American artist Hayley Eichenbaum, the landscape of the American Southwest has been a persistent muse. She is best known for her nostalgic images of empty drive-ins and motels, gas stations and diners, focusing on unexpected geometries, pastel colors, and radiant displays of neon and natural light. As part of WePresent’s 2020 “Reflection” series, created in collaboration with Samsung, Hayley drove between her homes in Los Angeles and Milwaukee, taking photos of highways and public spaces that had emptied out during the pandemic.
