Artists Erik Hart and Tati Lëshkina—who work together under the moniker Hart Lëshkina—are endlessly fascinated by the construction of identity and the tension between the real and performed self. Inspired by elements of film production (their research and editing processes are extensive), the duo draws the beauty out of moments of awkwardness and uneasiness. In 2020, WePresent partnered with Hart Lëshkina on “Show Me How To Feel,” a photographic project that saw them casting and then directing child actors through a series of constructed scenarios and dialogues. Along with personal projects like this, Hart Lëshkina have created work for the likes of Kenzo, Nike, Uniqlo, and SSENSE.
“We wanted to explore that space where the distinction between character and actor becomes very blurred.”
