Erin Nicholls is an Australian artist who specializes in marker and pencil illustrations. Her work features seemingly everyday scenes, inviting the viewer to appreciate—and get lost in—the small details that might otherwise go unnoticed. A lot of these scenes take place in Japan, a country and culture Erin feels a real affiliation with. We featured work from two of her series, “A Night in Japan” and “A Year in Japan,” and found out how a fleeting moment can actually take months to get down on paper.
