Shooting in Iraq, Iran, India and beyond, award-winning British photojournalist Emily Garthwaite tells environmental and humanitarian stories that might otherwise go uncovered. Her work has been featured in Smithsonian Magazine, Vanity Fair, The Guardian, and the Sunday Times Magazine, and has been exhibited at the South Bank Centre, Somerset House and the Natural History Museum in London. As part of WePresent’s 2020 Ideas Report, Emily wrote a touching and insightful essay about how leaving her home in Iraq to move in with her family in the UK kickstarted one of the most creative periods of her life. She was also part of our series You, Me and Everyone We Know, in which we paired her up with Pulitzer prize-winning photojournalist Lynsey Addario to discuss how capturing global change has impacted their careers.
