The mixed-race granddaughter of Windrush-generation immigrants, British writer Eleanor Shearer has explored themes of family, race, and the legacy through essays and fiction. Her debut novel, “River Take Me Home,” inspired by the fieldwork she conducted in St. Lucia and Barbados during her Master's at the University of Oxford, was published in 2023. That same year, she wrote a piece for WePresent about the similarities between sport and writing.
