Ekin Özbiçer is a photographer based between Istanbul and Barcelona. She studied at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, later spending a year studying photography at FAMU in Prague. Through her photography, she examines class relations in Turkey and the ways social and economic inequalities are inscribed into everyday life, shaping lifestyles, spaces, objects, gestures and aesthetic choices. She approaches these subjects with a sociological curiosity, tracing how broader structures of power and privilege become visible in ordinary environments and daily practices. We featured her series “The Other City,” made up of diptychs taken between Istanbul and Barcelona that explore the duality of living between two places.
