Mexican stylist and photographer Dorian Ulises López Macías weaves his pride in his country into everything he does. Whether shooting personal projects, commercial campaigns, or editorials for the likes of Vogue, Purple, and Dazed, Dorian makes a point of casting Mexican models to pose in front of local backdrops, and often works with his network of local collaborators. Much of his work also centers Mexico’s queer community—a step he hopes will help improve attitudes towards LGBTQ+ people in his home nation. On WePresent, Dorian opened up to us about his mission to champion Mexican culture and the country’s queer community, and shared the stories behind some of his most memorable images.
